Amy's Kit

Amy's Kit

Hi,

I was getting out my Valentine supplies when I came across a kit given to me by a friend.  Her name is Amy White.  Amy is very talented and is an inspiration to me. Last Valentine's she gave me this cute kit that she created.  When she gave it to me I remember thinking what a great idea......Create a small kit to give to a crafting friend and let them have the fun of putting something together.

Amy tucked 2 stamped images, 4 embossed pieces of cardstock, gems, ribbons and a diecut into her baggie and used themed paper with her stamp to top it off.

I took Amy's kit and some scraps that I had on hand and here are 2 cards I created.

These cards were fun and very quick to put together.  I think that I am going to make a few kits this year to give to crafty friends.  I am thinking that a "birthday" kit would be fun.  Amy, thanks for the great idea!

LOVE pop-up card

LOVE pop-up card

Hello,

One of my favorite blogs for tutorials and inspiration is created by Jin Yong.  She is very creative and generously shares her knowledge with all of us.  When I saw this card on her blog I knew I had to give it a try.

Here is my version of her design.

The papers I used were exclusive to Archivers last year and have a shine to them.  The paper was designed by Kelly Panacci.  I have seen many of the same designs by her this year.
One of the things I like to do when I make a card is to make an envelope that matches the card in some way.  For this card I lined the envelope with some of the paper that I used on the outside as well as the inside of the card.

I hope you like my take on the card and make sure you check out Jin's blog at  http://underacherrytree.blogspot.com .

Bath Time Layout

Bath Time Layout

Good Morning!

Yesterday I attended a baby shower for a crafting friend.  Our group surprised her with a baby scrapbook.  We each made a 2 page layout.  Today I thought I would share my contribution with you.
The bathtub and ducks are files from Silhouette.

I had some unusable mostly dried up iridescent craft paint that I sponged on the bubble cutout to give the effect of foamy bubbles.  The duck in the tub is a random sticker that I had in my stash.
I used foam dots to elevate the bubbles.  This will allow a picture to slide behind the bubbles.
Thank you for looking.

Birthday Card

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The Holidays were wonderful.  We were so thrilled to have our kids, grandkids and my dad for 9 days.  It was truly a magical time for us and I hope your Holidays were as joyful as ours were.

My first project for 2012 was to make some changes to my craft room.  Now that task is almost complete and I can actually spend some time crafting.

My project for today is a birthday card for a friend.  I used a set from SVG Cuts called "A2 Cards For All Occassions."  I suggest you take a look at this site.  There are many wonderful projects.  http://svgcuts.com

I used a paper pack from ColorBok that I picked up at Target over the summer.  I adapted the pattern a bit in MTC to create the dimensional flower.  I use versmark chalk ink "white cloud" to add some highlights to the flower and edges of the card.  I also used sparkled vellum mounted to the cardstock for the background.  I enjoyed using my new Zing to make this project.
